FAQs

What is LifeTeen?
LifeTeen is an international Catholic movement that serves the Church by providing resources and faith experiences that help lead teens closer to Christ. This is accomplished through a vibrant Eucharistic spirituality and by creating widespread opportunities for teens to grow in their faith.

What's different at the LifeTeen Mass?
At the weekly LifeTeen Mass, teens and their families experience the depths of God’s love through the Word, the community, and the Eucharist. Relevant preaching and quality music bring the Catholic Mass to life. The music at St. Joseph's 5:00pm LifeTeen Mass is provided by REIGN.

What are Life Nights?
Following the LifeTeen Mass, we move to the Parish Hall where our Youth Minister and CORE Members lead the teens deeper into the faith through a mini “retreat-like” experience. As a faith community, the teens grow in understanding of what it means to be young and Catholic in the new millennium. The teens are affirmed, educated, and challenged to live the Gospel.

What is a CORE member?
Everyone has a baptismal call to serve. A CORE Member is an adult who is responding to his or her baptismal call to serve in youth ministry. As a CORE Member, you will be an important role model in teenagers’ lives. Your approach to ministry should be rooted in service, commitment, and dedication to the Church and the teenagers you serve.

CORE Members are one of the most vital parts of the LifeTeen Program. First and foremost, CORE Members are role models to all of our teens. We know that how you live and act makes a strong impression of teens. The CORE Members work under the supervision of the youth ministry staff for the purpose of assisting in the fulfillment of the LifeTeen mission.
